No longer able to pair any Nanoleaf A19 Lights #104883

Closed johnkiddjr closed 10 months ago

johnkiddjr commented 10 months ago

The problem

I had originally paired these lights in late November, but after a few days all my zigby and thread devices would no longer respond. I removed the integrations entirely and re-set them up as before. The zigby devices were able to be reconnected once the integration was set back up, however Matter/Thread devices error out.

I've tried both pairing from the Nanoleaf app and pairing them directly, both fail at a different line in device_controller.py

I performed a factory reset on the bulbs, and did a clean reinstall of HA on the Yellow and the issue persists (full reinstall via USB image newly downloaded by RPi Imager).

I am using Eve Energy and Eve Motion along side Nanoleaf Matter bulbs.

Eve devices were increadbly easy and quick to add to HomeKit and Updated directly through the HomeKit app took a couple of tries to commission those devices from HomeKit into Home Assistant but now they work flawlesly.

For Nanoleaf it took time to add them to HomeKit as I always had to turn the ones I added off before preceeding with the next bulb. the Nanoleaf Bulbs are almost imposble to commission into Home Assistant. I manage to get one but shortly after it stoped responding. I am convinced it is a Nanoleaf Firmware issue as those bulbs also go unresponsive on HomeKit from time to time and this issue appears when more than 20 devices are connected.

I have contacted Nanoleaf support but sadly no proper fix yet.

marcelveldt commented 10 months ago

Nanoleaf devices have major firmware issues and are practically unusable. We're all waiting for the release of the (beta) firmware version 3.6 which should fix the issues. Until then, I strongly advise not to add these bulbs to your thread network as it will make the entire network unstable.
