The problem

Automations being triggered by tracking devices have become erratic. I changed the trigger to persons instead to see if this would work. I also installed home in the configuration.yaml file to see if that would also help.

What version of Home Assistant Core has the issue?

2023.11.3

Please provide more information, what is happening, what do you expect etc

stevecopeland77 commented 8 months ago

the automation is triggered by the device (my phone) entering the home and leaving. the automation calls a script which announces the event (VLC-TELNET) and unlocks the doors (Wyze locks integration). this is the normal expectation

what happens .. when entering the home zone ... the routine is not initially activated. Sometime later, the routine runs. I have not noticed if it is consistent time interval.

I was using the device itself as the trigger... but have changed it to the person instead. Have also established the home location in the configuration file. Have not tested this yet.

I followed up with a more detailed comment and you completely ignored it.

Whoops, I have about 3.1k github notifications, stuff gets lost here sometimes. I am still missing some technical depth in the issue. Do you have screenshots about the state showing you are at a place and the automation triggering later?
