Hey there @dmulcahey, @adminiuga, @puddly, @thejulianjes, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (zha
) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Please enable ZHA debug logging, reproduce the issue, and post the logs. The error messages alone don't contain enough context, unfortunately.
Do you have any backups or other resource-intensive tasks running when this occurs?
Please enable ZHA debug logging
Time between occurrences has been as long as about a week and as little as 2-3 days. Can I leave ZHA debugging enabled for that long? Won't the log be too big?
reproduce the issue
Not sure how to do that. Its just something that started happening with normal use of my HA setup every few/several days after one of the 2023.12 minor updates.
Do you have any backups or other resource-intensive tasks running when this occurs?
Backups isn't the issue. I create those manually and have not had this issue occur while creating one. And I'm not sure what would be considered "other resource-intensive tasks".
the "Platform zha does not generate unique IDs" part of this should be fixed by #107311

That happens after the restart though so how does it help this issue?
It doesn’t. That’s why I reopened and referenced the specific error in my comment 😀

So should I enable ZHA debugging and let it run even if it takes a week or so for this to occur again?
Same here, I believe last stable zha was Nov 23. It's been a mess since, randomly reinitializing multiple times. This causes devices to drop.
I have a Sonoff P dongle. On latest 2024.1.1 hoping its fixed but just happened 20m ago. I'll try to help with debug logs as well
This looks extremely similar to my issue; I have logs included, maybe they can help?

Hi, I got the same problem. Since i made the upgrade from 2023.12.3 to 2023.12.4, my Zlinky don't give the meter values until i ask for it with ZHA toolkit. It look like the problem of this post occured at same time, all the equipments of the network become unavailable one or two times a day and some of my light bulbs set to off then to on after it came back. I'm trying to downgrade to 2023.12.0 to see if the two problems disapear. Edit: The Zlinky send counter values without ZHA toolkit asks since i downgraded, waiting one day to confirm the other problem disapear too.
Edit: No problem since the downgrade. But i will no longer have the problem from now, i bought a new dongle and move my zigbee equipments one by one to Z2m.
Same problem here. Also not sure if 2023.12.1 or 2 was the last working.
The usual interval between the disconnection of all Zigbee devices is from 2 hours to 1,5 days. The connection is always dropped only for around 35 seconds. All devices reconnect after.
The STRANGE thing is that it happens only with my RPI 3b+ with Sky Connect, which I use in rented flat. The RPI 4b with Sky Connect is OK! Both have the same version, both use ZHA.
I was finally able to capture a debug of it happening (2024-01-16 ~12:23:25 is when "NCP entered failed state. Requesting APP controller restart" happens).
Please enable ZHA debug logging, reproduce the issue, and post the logs.
@puddly Did my debug logs help or did you need me to post something else?
The release later today has stability improvements for SI radios. Give it a try when it comes out.
I gave up on it after 2 months, I have 150 devices on zigbee and since the update 23.12 it went from being rock solid to unreliable. After constant nagging from my boss (wife), decided to migrate to z2m
On z2m now running on a separate machine, seems to be stable but only been 3 days thus far. Bit of a shame cause I liked everything being contained in HA.
