This is known and I believe should be fixed in the next update
Hey there @pschmitt, @cyr-ius, @shenxn, @xitee1, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (roomba
) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Same for me here, impossible to do first connect my Roomba i7, trying everything, hold home, home + clean, reboot, nothing work
Just bought some Roomba 600 series, and having the same error.
Seems to be fixed in some next HA release. Just updated to last version, but that did not work.
Also see this GitHub issue. Seems fixed 1 week ago... :crossed_fingers: Hope the fix will land in HA soon, so I can just let our Dobby run around in the house when we are from home...
This seems to be fixed in 2024.2.3.
But new bug appeared; https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/111210
Right now I've managed to connect my Roomba with 2024.2.3... Now trying to downgrade to 2024.2.2 to have the integration work for now.
-edit- can confirm if you add your Roomba with 2024.2.3 and then downgrade to 2024.2.2, that integration is working. Seems like a good work around untill HA 2024.3.1 is released.
Then hoping that 2024.3.1 will have all fixes needed for Roomba to work fully.
I also needed to downgrade back to 2024.2.2 to have the roomba working again.
however I cant seem to find the vacuum/mopping options within HA. Some strange fan options with no function
Both the original issue and the 2024.2.3 MQTT issue should be fixed with Home Assistant Core 2024.2.4. The version is released, so you can update now. Please confirm that the issues are both fixed. If so, please close issue.
I confirm that this issue has been fixed with the last version 2024.2.4. Thank you for this fantastic job!
Mine are still not working. I had two "Discovered devices" but they eventually gave an "Unknown error" when trying to configure. I ignored them and tried installing the integration from the start and they aren't discovered at all and when I enter the IP address I eventually end up at the same place. Both are j7
The original card with a nice animated robot is indeed not working… How ever if you click on the integration and the robot you can control it.
By "not working" I mean the robots aren't there at all. No connection, no integration.
With the new update it is possible to discover my i7 but it can't retrieve automatically credentials and ha asks me to follow very unclear instructions here https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/roomba/#manually-retrieving-your-credentials None of the instructions seems to work so I give up trying to integrate my i7.
FWIW, the only way I can retrieve the j7 credentials is using an SSL sniffer (I'm on Mac so I use Charles). It's a fairly complicated process, but there is basic info (using Thor instead...not sure that app works anymore) here: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/roomba-j7-integration-help/339705/15
The problem
After selecting the Roomba i7 by its IP and clicking on 'validate' button (blue ring glowing on the robot) it shows the message 'Unknown error occurred' message.
