The problem

I hope this is the correct plugin for my question.

I have successfully configured Home Assistant so that it recognizes my Simplisafe. But the only device it shows is the alarm panel.

How do I get the other devices (motion detectors, glass break sensors, door monitors) to be recognized in Home Assistant?

Hey there @bachya, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (simplisafe) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Code owner commands Code owners of `simplisafe` can trigger bot actions by commenting: - `@home-assistant close` Closes the issue. - `@home-assistant rename Awesome new title` Renames the issue. - `@home-assistant reopen` Reopen the issue. - `@home-assistant unassign simplisafe` Removes the current integration label and assignees on the issue, add the integration domain after the command. - `@home-assistant add-label needs-more-information` Add a label (needs-more-information, problem in dependency, problem in custom component) to the issue. - `@home-assistant remove-label needs-more-information` Remove a label (needs-more-information, problem in dependency, problem in custom component) on the issue.

Sensor status is only available for SimpliSafe V3 systems and is updated once every 30 seconds, so information displayed in Home Assistant may be delayed.

based on the provided diagnostics data, your SimpliSafe is only version 2?

hspindel commented 8 months ago

Sensor status is not updated no matter how long I wait. No sensors are detected other than the main panel.

Yes, I have Simpliisafe V2.

bachya commented 8 months ago

Yes, I have Simpliisafe V2.

@mib1185 is referencing the HA SimpliSafe docs above: unfortunately, we cannot pull sensor status for V2 systems.

bachya commented 8 months ago

@russellspage Looks like we're not finding any systems (or any subscription data) associated with your account:

"subscription_data": {},
"systems": []

Is there anything you can share about your account to help me understand what might be going on? What plan are you on, is your system activated, etc.?

russellandrew72 commented 7 months ago

My system is working and I use it manually most days. I was on a subscription and sometime ago (Previous HA installation) I it connected. I have since installed a new dedicated HA and dropped down to the free version for Simplisafe. When I saw this integration I wanted to try. It mentions in the documentation about only being compatible with v2 and v3. I am not sure what version I have. My system consists of 1x camera 4x door sensors, glass sensor and 3x motion sensors.

Looks through the logs and not sure what the error is reporting? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

This web page will help you determine which version you have:

Thank you for your reply. I did look at this and it is a Gen 3 setup but I thought the v2 and v3 was more software?

Entirely different and incompatible hardware.

russellandrew72 commented 7 months ago

Hi hspendel thank you for replying. I have Gen 3 hardware and I am trying to understand why I am not seeing any of the hardware within HA. Should it automatically detect the devices? image I put my code for the hub in image I just see the hub with a statement no Devices. image Do I need to manually add the devices? If so how do I know their unique information etc? Sorry for the newbie and silly questions, I am just struggling with this one. Any help is appreciated thank you.

bachya commented 7 months ago

@russellandrew72 It should definitely be loading systems and devices automatically. What SimpliSafe subscription do you have?

Abductist commented 7 months ago

@russellandrew72 Are you able to view all of your devices and arm and disarm your system via the SimpliSafe app? If not, there may be some issue outside of the Home Assistant integration

hspindel commented 7 months ago

Yes, the Simplisafe app works fine. The issue is that I have Simplisafe 2 and the HA integration only supports Simplisafe 3.

russellandrew72 commented 7 months ago

Thank you so much for replying and trying to help. It seems USER ERROR to be honest. I had not been using the phone application for sometime and didn't check it. When I opened the app I had been logged out and my Hub was not present. I scanned the QR underneath and readded the Hub. After that within the app I could see all of my devices. When I deleted and recreated the HA integration they came in first as entities and then devices. All working, I hope this helps someone else. Thanks again Russ
