Nest Mini not showing current playing state anymore. #117258

The problem

I updated a few times in the last 2-3 months so no clue when it stopped working.

I have a group "all speakers" with a few hubs and nest mini's. I use automations to start playlist on this group and this all works. The hubs and the nest mini's actually play and do everything in the group.

But in HA I can't see the state of the Nest Mini's anymore, the hubs show, but the others remain unavailable even though they are playing.

In Google Home app it also shows as playing. I have deleted the devices and they get rediscovered a bit later with the same unavailable state.

Not really sure how to log specific stuff for this.

My mini stopped working at some point as well. I went to Devices -> Google Cast -> Configure and added my mini's IP address in the "known hosts" section and it started working again. I have hubs too, they are working fine.

mDNS is working fine in my network, I think there is a bug with minis.

Aha! This indeed fixes the issue. My mDNS is also working so it's definitely something with the integration.

Cheers for sharing the solution!

I have similar problems with particular minis. The proposed solution only reduceres the problem. More often than not the minis are unavailable in home Assistant although active for Google Home

By adding the IP to the hosts the mini's have worked for 7 days without going offline for me.
