Gree integration - HA can see devices but can't control them, no temperature slider #117353

The problem

One of my dreams came true - I installed 4 units of A/C by Gree (Pular model). I tought that if HA has a nice integration called 'Gree' all I need is to pair all units by GREE app and than discover in HA. First step was OK - I can control every unit by gree+ / EWPE app. Second step unfortunately doesnt work. I can see all four units in HA but it's no response from AC. In addition I can't see any slider to change temperature. Turning on every mode (fan, heating, cooling, etc.) gives no response from AC. Constantly disconnecting is the second issue, but I read about chinese cloud - lets say that is smaller problem than zero response from AC.

I spent last 4 days to check what can be the cause. Every model has a V1.21 software, maybe downgrade should help but I cant do that. I tried to install another addon from HACS (Custom Gree climate by robhofmann) but no luck - HA cant see my devices (maybe thats through lack of key from gree app database, i'm stuck on try to get one). I saw post from somebody here that Gree Pular model connects with HA so question is what is wrong with my unit/config? I would be very-very grateful for any help. gree1.txt heatingnotemp states turnedoff

I had 2,4Ghz set - I've heard that new devices has different communication protocol

prspyder commented 4 months ago

started having same issue I even rolled back my backup of a week ago but still having same issue

philips1923 commented 4 months ago

It's sad :( I wrote an email to official support by distributor in Poland about possibility to upgrade my wifi module and thats their answer (tl;dr - it's my problem):

Google translation: The manufacturer nowhere mentions that the devices are compatible with Home Assistant, so we cannot require it in any way. Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that it works, because a few days ago I added all our air conditioners in the showroom with versions V1.03 and V3.72. Updates are prepared by the manufacturer for WiFi modules to work stably with the GREE+ application, some require them, others do not and unfortunately we have no influence on this.

blazgi commented 4 months ago

Spróbujcie zresetować wifi w klimatyzacji i ponowne sparować, u mnie pomogło na dokładnie te same objawy przy FW V3.73

philips1923 commented 4 months ago

@blazgi - próbowałem to zrobić około 8x i zawsze to samo

I tried to do this eight times with no result

Trzeba podnieść do wyższej wersji wg powyższego linku. Ja pewnie po weekendzie powalczę.

szaman-89 commented 4 months ago
