I doubt it is a duplicate. My RPi cannot find the heater at all until I toggle Bluetooth passive scanning. Unless there's some correlation that I'm unaware of.
The problem
When trying to add a local device the server (rpi 5) does not find the device. Reboot or putting heater back in pairing mode does not seem to help. What I found working is to toggle the bluetooth passive scanning mode. On, off or back to what it was before does not matter.

I'm unaware if this is an issue with Adax or any other integration blocking bluetooth, however I hope someone else might find my workaround helpful.
