Note: FYI, this device used to crash the MacOS app Discovery, until the app author did an update. As I understand it from the author, it is possible to configure this devices with what he described as not a legal 'service type'. Below is his comment, note the Discovery app work fine now. I am not sure if this is the problem, but the configuration of the device allowed me to put a space in it's name: 'Coffee Maker'. Might be something to be on look out for.
"Wait, you have a service type called “Coffee Maker.local”? Wow, that’s, uh, not a legal service type. You must have some device on your network that is responding poorly to the _services._dns-sd._udp. meta-query. I guess I’ll have to add a filter to drop any “service type” that looks broken like this. Thanks for the info!"

By the way, the NS-SP1XM8 model listed in a previous comment is not an iDevices product. It's an Insignia Wi-Fi Smart Plug. The Insignia website also shows:
INSIGNIA CONNECT TO BE DISCONTINUED Please note: On November 6, 2019, the Insignia Connect app will be discontinued and no longer available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After this date, the Insignia Wi-Fi Smart Plug will no longer be functional through the app or through Google Home or Amazon Alexa voice services.

Can I help this in any way? I have been beating my head trying to pair it with HK Controller for almost a year. HA discovers it but when I enter the HK Code it says it's invalid even though it works with IOS etc...

@bdraco You mean Homekit Controller integration? not Lutron integration right? I doubt you could use Lutron integration since this is a QSX processor and it doesn't use Telnet it uses Leap. This is why I was posting this in a homekit controller ticket.

Since it is leap, Does it work with the Lutron caseta integration?
No it does not unfortunately. It is discovered by HK Controller. But there must be an issue with authentication or something like that. It gives me invalid HK code error even though it is correct.

Did you open an issue for this? Let's move the discussion there so we don't clutter the inboxes of the others subscribed to this one.
Also to clarify:
It doesn't work with the Lutron caseta integration or the HomeKit controller integration, or both?

We use Homekit discovery to help the discovery of our integrations. When discovered via Homekit, we can launch the config flow of the real integration. For example, we find Ecobee via Homekit, we can then suggest the Ecobee integration to be set up.
To get this working, we need to gather Homekit model names. To do this, we need your help!
If you own Homekit devices, please check your zeroconf/bonjour/dns-sd listings for
_hap._tcp.local.
and find themd
properties. Please post them below in following template:How to scan your network
