I have a Linksys MR9600 Router and I can't tell if it should be a "Smart Wifi" or a "Velop" router. But I too am having the same errors as you in my log and am looking for a solution. I posted in the Home Assistant Community Forum under Integrations, so far, no responses as well.

wormuths commented 2 years ago

I am also looking to setup the Velop Mesh network I have into home assistant. It used to work, but now it seems not to. I see there is a custom component created because Velop started requiring user name/password to work, but it seems this should be merged into the main platform.

Same... Kudos to @bencerda1 for not letting this issue die.

Looking for a solution as well with MR 9600. Really want an excuse to switch to Unifi but at the same time I'm not ready to start spending the money on a Unifi setup just yet.

Still an issue as of 2023.9.1.

Why oh why can't we get a fix for this. It would be super simple.

Still an issue on 2023.11.3

It's been over a year and yet the issue still hasn't been addressed...

Wraith324 commented 9 months ago

I actually got rid of my Linksys and built a custom box with OPNSense and U6 Pro. Issue resolved.

I suggest the rest of you do the same. :) It's so much better than any consumer router. OPNSense is free.

Almost 2 years now, and the issue is still present to this day (2024.3). Doesn't seem to be any designated maintainer, instead of abandoning this integration, HA should consider removing this from the core.
