Hey there @nielstron, @farmio, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (fronius) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Code owner commands Code owners of `fronius` can trigger bot actions by commenting: - `@home-assistant close` Closes the issue. - `@home-assistant rename Awesome new title` Change the title of the issue. - `@home-assistant reopen` Reopen the issue. - `@home-assistant unassign fronius` Removes the current integration label and assignees on the issue, add the integration domain after the command.

Hi 👋!

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this.

I have just tested to add the Fronius integration on a test installation with clean database on 2023.2 beta (there were no related changes from 2023.1 afair) and it worked perfectly fine. All sensor entities were shown in the dropdown.

Do you happen to have some customize with globs in your configuration, or anything like that?

el-rocho commented 1 year ago

Thanks for your time

It's very strange, all the entities work perfectly but they don't appear in the dropdown menu of the power panel

Everything was working correctly in 2022.12 but in January I did a clean installation (even with the empty database) to start using z-wave devices, in the new installation the power panel does not detect the "Fronius" integration entities. Now I use the "Tesla style solar power card" (HACS) interface without problems

Can you just type the entity ids in the field instead of using the drop-down? I have no idea why it doesn't show in your installation. On my test instance it didn't even need to wait for long term statistics, it worked right away. Can you show your entities states and attributes from Dev-Tools - States from an applicable entity?

el-rocho commented 1 year ago

Hello again

Manually typing entity IDs into the field doesn't work, the "save" button remains disabled

The states and attributes of the entities appear without problems in the dev-tools section... I can perfectly use those entities in different cards Thanks again

Sorry, my google web translator... now it's ok. Which logs?? Any information relevant you need just ask and i'll post it. Regards

farmio commented 1 year ago

Anything that could be related. Open your Home Assistant instance and show your Home Assistant logs. Also, which device do you use, does it have fixed IP, did you change something (update, network, etc.).

hammelkopp commented 1 year ago

Hi, same problem on my site. Today my fronius was installed, discovery worked fine but i can only see 3 objects in the dropdown fields in the energy dashboar settings. I run haos 2023.2.3. Regards

farmio commented 1 year ago

@hammelkopp please add more information. What entities do you see? Which entities would you expect? What are the states of the expected entities? Is there anything in the logs? What devices (inverter, meter, etc)? Did it even produce yet?

Alby247 commented 1 year ago

Same problem for me on my work system (my Fronius at home works fine in HA). System is two older IG-Plus inverters with a datamanager card, and two newer Symo inverters, plus a Fronius smartmeter. All show up in HA. The integration has been installed and running for a few weeks now. I can display the sensor info in a glance card no problems.

Solarnet device shows all the relevant sensors, but when trying to configure the Energy dashboard sensors such as Power Grid, Power load, Power photovoltaics, don't appear in the dropdowns. None of the available sensors in the dropdown appear to provide the correct info.

Solarnet HA

Home Assistant 2023.2.5 Supervisor 2023.01.1 Operating System 9.5 Frontend 20230202.0 - latest

When I installed the integration HA automatically set up the Energy dashboard on my home system, but it's blank on my work system.

Not sure if this helps, it doesn't mean much to me. I had debug mode turned on for the Fronius integration for about half an hour.

farmio commented 1 year ago

@timh767 does the IG have a Smartmeter connected to it? You seem to confuse power with energy. Energy panel only accepts energy entities. Have a look at https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/energy/faq/#energy-vs-power and https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/fronius/#energy-dashboard

Alby247 commented 1 year ago

Thanks @farmio - yes there is a Smartmeter in the system and yes I had power and energy confused.

Set the sensors to Energy Total for each inverter (production), Smart meter 50kA-3 Energy real consumed (consumption), and Smart meter 50kA-3 Energy real produced (return to grid). The daily numbers are fairly close to the Fronius Solarweb site.

Leticron commented 1 year ago

I have a similar issue: the entities from my fronius integration (SolarNet device) went to not available 5 days ago. For me a reload of the integration solved the issue but I have no idea what caused that behaviour. No changes have been made since that happened.

Thronborg commented 1 year ago

Energy dashboard not working

The data are received correctly from my Fronius to HA.

But Energy dashboard sensors Power Grid Power load Power photovoltaics, don't appear in the Energy dashboard. ONLY 5 sensors can be seen?

And i cant paste the sensor and press "Save"

Thanks farmio. Yes i know but before i could choose between a lot of entities now only 5. I am quite sure i before could enter "Power photovoltaics" to the chart if i am not totaly wrong. I would like to se the energy consumed in kWh in the same positive bar together with the "Smart Meter 63A Energy real consumed"

If you look at the picture i cant se my energy consumed at 11:00. And i am sure i have. If i am not wrong i could earier se both "Power photovoltaics" and energy consumed in the same chart, but i can be wrong.

Thanks again for your input farmio.

farmio commented 1 year ago

It seems you did export exactly the same amount of energy as you produced. I guess you have configured the solar production wrongly.

Thronborg commented 1 year ago

You are right. But i only have 5 inputs to choose from. I will wait and se if there will be an update.

Thanks for your response. Thronborg

MelleD commented 1 year ago

I'm currently trying to set up my Fronius in Home Assistant. I have a SmartMeter, Inverter and a Symo 8.2.3. Setting up the devices worked smoothly.

However, I also have problems setting up the Energy Dashboard. If I understood it correctly, the values of the SolarNet should be used. However, these are not displayed for me. I can only select the sensor values from my Symo and SmartMeter.

How can one solve it?

My devices:

Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 12 09 06

Solar Net Load and Grid. This are the values what i need, correct?

Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 12 09 22

But here just have the Symo and Smart Meter values for consumption:

Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 12 07 32

I understand I need: sensor.solarnet_power_grid & sensor.solarnet_power_load, correct?

Additionally, I found confusing whether I still need to convert these values: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/fronius/#consumption-path-meter

Is that necessary?

farmio commented 1 year ago

@MelleD i don't know where you get the info that you can or should use power entities for the enetgy dashboard.

Imho the documentation states exactly which entity you should configure at which position. It depends on your meter location.

nielstron commented 1 year ago

@farmio You should prepare a standard answer for this question, I think it pops up roughly twice a week by now :)

MelleD commented 1 year ago

@farmio thanks for the reply. My location is 0. However, the values in the dashboard were not correct and deviated. For this reason I thought the values are wrong. The solar net looked plausible. Let me try again and i make a screenshot

@nielstron Maybe the documentation isn't as good as I thought :). E.g. complete examples and information on the sensor values would be useful :)

farmio commented 1 year ago

@nielstron I thought the documentation was the standard answer 🤣

@MelleD If something isn't clear or understandable, please feel free to correct it. It's often hard to write this from a new users perspective - and in a way that is also compliant with HA documentation standards.

Feed in path meters don't need any helpers (Riemann) to be used in energy dashboard.

MelleD commented 1 year ago

@farmio yes i could do that, when it works. I think the problem is in front of the PC ;)

Here my configuration and solar web view. Maybe i understand the Dashboard wrong

Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 13 07 42 Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 13 06 15 Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-12 um 13 05 47
farmio commented 1 year ago

@MelleD thsts perfectly fine. One picture shows instantaneous power, the other daily energy. They are not comparable.

MelleD commented 1 year ago

@farmio Ah so there is just a daily view. Is there also a similar view of the current status or do I have to build it by myself?

Ok then i understand the dashboard wrong. I was always confused why the grid was simulated to the house, although currently everything came from the PV :)

robinbon commented 1 year ago

Hi

Very new at this. I am trying to add my fronius solar inverter to HA integration. at the very start it says add host name.

Where is this information ? image

I have fronius primo 5 & data manager

image

Currently i access my data via solar web and get graphical instant generation and feed/draw from grid.

thanks

farmio commented 1 year ago

@robinbon It's the Hostname or local ip address, just like the description says. You won't find this information in SolarWeb, but in your LAN router or maybe on the devices display somewhere.

robinbon commented 1 year ago

ok, thanks, I was looking at my access point which it will be on, i was working my way down (long list) of devices.

the most obvious device due to length of time active starts with ESP-425xxx

but not that

robinbon commented 1 year ago

ok, trail and error and I found it, thanks

robinbon commented 1 year ago

ok, so I installed the fronius into HA. Then I selected the data sources in energy but I selected the wrong sources (there are lots).

How do I edit the sources ? As I am getting wrong data being fed graphs etc. I did try deleting fronius and reinstalling but the wrong sources are still being used.

Thanks

Thronborg commented 1 year ago

You cant edit. Delete it and add a new.

robinbon commented 1 year ago

i did that and the data sources are same as before.

farmio commented 1 year ago

Remove the data sources from "Settings -> Dashboards-> Energy".

Please head to the community forums or Discord for support questions. HAs GitHub issue tracker should only be used for bug reports.

robinbon commented 1 year ago

thanks, sorry, did not know

puch1951 commented 1 year ago

I have still the same problem: Problems with Fronius integration in the energy panel I can only select a few entities in the energy panel The one I should have for "solar production" is "sensor.solarnet_pv_leistung" I read all the comments but which is the actual status of the issue? thx

farmio commented 1 year ago

@puch1951 sensor.solarnet_pv_leistung is not the one you should have. "Leistung" in english is "power". You need "energy" - in German "Energie" or "Wirkenergie". Start over at https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/86448#issuecomment-1443384470 or https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/86448#issuecomment-1459857002 or https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/86448#issuecomment-1465173121

puch1951 commented 1 year ago

hello farmio, thx for your fast reply. with your reply I understood the problem. In the energy dashboard only entities with kWh are selectable. because energy per day (week, and so on) are displayed. In the fronius app the actual power values are displayed, so that differs of course from your values in the dashboard. (Tell me if I'm wrong). Nice would be if you could display these actual power values in the dashbord additionally (also in a bubble chart). The neccessary entities are available. Thanks again

farmio commented 1 year ago

Yes, you are correct.

To the second part of your post: I think there are custom cards that do this. Otherwise feature requests should be filed in the community forums. This is not (and can't be) part of the Fronius integration, but is a core/energy thing. https://community.home-assistant.io/c/feature-requests/13

rorso commented 1 year ago

I hope I may add my "problem" here too. :-) First of all, I am really glad. This addon is just great. But a few things remain that might get improved. First, the inverter communicates per WLAN and the connection is not that great. So it may miss a command any now and then. As it seems, I had a small dropout in the evening when solar production was low but still good. So I miss points both in the history and in the energy graph. The missing amount was added in the morning as an energy peak that never happened.

image

image

The Fronius solarweb page however happened to get it right, although the tail was missing here too in the evening. The data were distributed with the correct times, when the device awoke.

image

Indeed the power reading is missing a share, but that one is not used for calculating the energy I guess, as the configured sensor is image

image

But how then is solarweb able to fit the values and is there a possibility to do the same?
