iOS App cannot connect through Cloudflare - HA says "Did not receive auth message"

The problem

Hi

My setup:

RaspberryPi 4 with HomeAssitant OS
- Home Assistant 2023.3.2
- Supervisor 2023.03.1
- Operating System 9.5
- Frontend 20230306.0 - latest
Personal subdomain
Cloudflared Zero Trust setup with Argo tunnel
iOS HomeAssistant app (2023.3.1) configured with external URL (public subdomain) and internal URL (local IP address), as well as 1.1.1.1 app with active Cloudflare VPN

Until roughly end of January 2023 my setup was working fine. While I was in my home wifi the iOS app would connect through the internal URL and while I was out it would use the external URL - both would work fine.

However, since some time in January the external access does not work anymore from within the HA app on iOS. If I instead use a browser like Safari or Chrome, the external access still works. So in general the connection from outside (phone in 4G/5G connection -> Cloudflare -> Tunnel -> HomeAssistant) is still "fine".

The problem with the iOS app not working anymore is that all location based automations stop working because "I never leave home".

I'm not sure how to further troubleshoot to provide more insights into this issue.

In the HA app under Settings -> MyHome -> Websocket I get the following error after the WebSocket connection attempt failed showing "Disconnected":

> Error: Response could not be decoded because of error: The operation couldn't be completed. ObjectMapper failed to serialize response.
> Retry Count: 8
> Next Retry: 12:05:12

And Home Assistant logs the following:

> 2023-03-11 12:06:33.128 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.websocket_api.http.connection] [547247327600] Disconnected: Did not receive auth message within 10 seconds

This issue still persists in HA 2023.04, 2023.05 and now also with 2023.06.
