The page is unclear. First, an overview would be handy for new HA users before diving into the detail. The section on what to do if a device is not detected is especially unclear - what has scanning with a phone got to do with anything? Why is IoS treated like an exceptional case (in brackets)?

Additional information
I am running HA native on a Dell Optiplex 3050 (Generic Intel) with an ENUP long range Bluetooth adapter. The adapter setup ran correctly and it successfully detected a SwitchBot door sensor, though this does not show up in known=devices.yaml. The only device there at all is my iPhone, presumably detected via WiFi.
I am trying to discover a Cubetouch 1S Finger Robot. I can set it up fine using Smart Life, which I assume uses the Bluetooth on the phone on which I am running the Smart Life app, and I can access it though the Smart Life integration, but I want to set it up directly connected to HA.
