Feedback

As the article sayes: "Install this unofficial add-on to use this integration with Home Assistant. Keep in mind that we can’t give you support for this add-on." It is not necessary to run the apcupsd daemon on the HA host. You can run it on different host and connect to it. At least should be noted.

Hey there @yuxincs, mind taking a look at this feedback as it has been labeled with an integration (apcupsd) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Code owner commands Code owners of `apcupsd` can trigger bot actions by commenting: - `@home-assistant close` Closes the feedback. - `@home-assistant rename Awesome new title` Renames the feedback. - `@home-assistant reopen` Reopen the feedback. - `@home-assistant unassign apcupsd` Removes the current integration label and assignees on the feedback, add the integration domain after the command.

I think that line is specifically for HassOS users for installing the add-on directly on HassOS. The add-on outside of HassOS does not really make sense. For anyone not using HassOS they'll simply ignore that section.

The only time this is confusing if for people with more than one HassOS installations, and they might think the add-on must be installed on the machine that configures the integration.

Actually, I'm tempted to simply remove that section, given:

(1) the add-on is archived and no longer maintained. (2) people looking for apcupsd integration will naturally understand what apcupsd is, and we can link to the official documentation for installation in the introduction. For example, both the Plex and Jellyfin integration docs assume a working installation of plex or jellyfin server.

This is of course debatable. At least we can revise that section to be "Installing APC UPS Daemon" and link/copy the official documentation on how to install the apcupsd.

Thoughts? @frenck
