BloomSky went out of business in 2022 #34108

Feedback

This integration entry should be removed. BloomSky went dark in 2022 with it's cloud services shutdown which rendered the devices inoperable.

Version

2024.7.4

Additional information

I found only one github project that allowed hackling the camera data, but it doesn't appear that anyone has figured out a way to use the devices offline/local so this integration should be retired.

So I coincidentally just removed the weather station from my roof and wanted to suggest the same thing (removal). The weather station broke a long time ago so I can't validate that API services are no longer functional but the website is only partially functional (app and maps is gone) and the Appstore reviews seems to validate that nothing is working since 2022: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bloomsky-weather/id978094420?ls=1 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bloomsky.bloomsky&pli=1

Their last Infragram post was from 2021: https://www.instagram.com/bloomskyweather/ The store and support is offline and the account expired: https://shop.bloomsky.com/

To bad, I really enjoyed the daily timelapses.

Apparently, Bloomsky's assets were purchased by a company in China called KantianTech. They've left the bloomsky.com site online (even the store, though it doesn't work), but the backend servers went down long ago and were never turned on again. Translating the KantianTech site from Chinese, it appears they have their own weather stations and may have purchased it for the IP alone.

In any event, I finally tossed my Storm a month or so ago. Saved the solar panels though... #saveitfiorparts
