homeassistant crashing every day since an update in december #1232

Hi,

also my raspberry pi with hass.io is crashing every days since december.

I already read a lot and posted in #1119 but I was advised to open a new post to get help.

I already reinstalled hass.io from the scratch and for almost two days it looked fine, but then it crashed again.

Any idea, what I could do?

This is my system:

I've been having the same issue for a while. Are any of you using WiFi, by chance?

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/wifi-does-not-reconnect-if-router-was-gone/247532/5

I would try this, I'm actually travelling right now, but I'll do so when I get home and update you guys :)

We must have something in common, as my friend is running my exact same hardware over ethernet and is not having any issues :/

Update: Disabled google cast, and that seems to have solved this! It's been stable for 2 days now, and hopefully will continue to be stable.

Disabling google cast seems to solve the problem, Thanks @EliotHertenstein

Update: after a week the crashes have returned

Helo,

Since the update the crashing is stopped...

TrommlerHH commented 3 years ago

For how long? And which update do you mean? @AndriesS82

Having the same issue for months now. Removed the "Google Cast" integration. Let's see if this helps.

Same issue for me :(

random crashes, mostly about twice a week where it won’t reboot automatically and isn’t available via web or SSH anymore, but pingable

I have tried removing some Addons, without success. Also it always looks like the pi was overheating bevor „crashing“ as my cooler goes crazy in the crashed state. It is set to start/stop cooling automatically.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. To keep our backlog manageable we have to clean old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. Please make sure to update to the latest Home Assistant OS version and check if that solves the issue. Let us know if that works for you by adding a comment 👍 This issue has now been marked as stale and will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.
