Unable to configure sensor.noaa_tides #677

Closed billchurch closed 5 years ago

billchurch commented 6 years ago

When configuring https://www.home-assistant.io/components/sensor.noaa_tides/ and restarting, hassio attempts to install the required components for sensor.noaa_tides however several conflicts emerge.

Hass.io supervisor: 128 HassOS: 1.10 Home-Assistant: 0.77.0 and 0.77.1

Occurs on fresh install with no custom components and only OpenSSH and SMB add-ons enabled.

configuration.yaml excerpt:

sensor:
  - platform: noaa_tides
    name: "Boca Ciega Bay"
    station_id: 8726494
billchurch commented 6 years ago

Verified that on an x86 home-assistant docker container, this does not happen and the same configuration works. Also verified through another community member @cogneato that their hassio has the same issue as I reported.

pcopa commented 6 years ago

I get this message:

Not initializing sensor.noaa_tides because could not install requirement py_noaa==0.3.0

ThellraAK commented 5 years ago

I have the same problem on 0.83.3

rsnodgrass commented 5 years ago

What happened to noaa_tides? It appears in Home Assistant that the sensor code disappeared entirely (and the dependency on py_noaa is still commented out, py_noaa is now at 1.0).

https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant/blob/dev/homeassistant/components/noaa_tides/sensor.py

Is noaa_tides deprecated? It still appears in the documentation:

https://www.home-assistant.io/components/sensor.noaa_tides/

billchurch commented 5 years ago

I can’t answer authoritatively, but I’ve not been able to use it since around 0.76 or so. Was still there but broken.

fabaff commented 5 years ago

It's still there. We are re-organizing the layout of the integrations and not everything is in the right place now.

The requirements for the sensor are commented out because the packages depends on pandas which requires a compiler to be installed.
