home-sweet-gnome / dash-to-panel

An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.

Window maximization and minimization animation is broken when autohide enabled #1766

Closed archee565 closed 1 year ago

archee565 commented 2 years ago

The maximize/minimize animation is broken, it just delays and pops. Works fine while auto-hide is off.

Reproduce: Turn on auto-hide, maximize any window, then minimize it.

Same behavior on: Fedora 36, debian testing gnome 42,43,
dash-to-panel 52 installed from extension site. wayland and x11

Looks fine to me:

Looks fine to me:

That was normalize-maximize animations. Try minimize to taskbar. You can do that by maximizing then pressuring the mouse on the screen edge to reveal panel, and click on the same task icon repeatedly.

How about you show me?

archee565 commented 2 years ago

Apparently it's broken only with top panel off.

Can you export your settings and upload them here? Maybe there is something in there that would help me reproduce as switching the top panel on/off makes no difference on my machine.

To export your settings:

Can't reproduce

I am getting a similar issue on Arch with gnome 42. In my case this is most noticeable with chromium and gnome settings. I don't have any other extensions installed apart from user themes.
