home-sweet-gnome / dash-to-panel

An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.

Running indicators are erroneous #1861

Things to do first

Describe the bug Dash-to-Panel stopped to show running indicators since approx. 2 weeks. The odd thing is, that showing running indicators does not fail completely. With some apps it works, with other apps it does not. Whenever I change something in the DtP-configuration, the indicators suddenly are visible. Especially if I stop/start the extensions with several apps running, it shows the indicators after restarting DtP.

Linux distribution and version Manjaro (rolling)

GNOME Shell version GNOME Shell 43.3

Dash-to-Panel version Version 55

Where was Dash-to-Panel installed from? The GNOME extensions website

Screenshots / Video captures This screenshot shows running applications which are not indicated but previewed: dtp_example I can reproduce the same behaviour (Gedit, Thunar, Geany, LibreOffice, Evolution). In all of these cases GtP shows a preview of the running application but does not indicate it. What you also can see is, that some applications are indicated.

Additional Info I cannot reproduce the issue in a virtual machine running Fedora 37.

I reject this issue. After updating to Version 55 and rebooting, the running apps indicators work as expected. Unfortunately , the Extensions Manager did not update from 53 to 55 automatically.
