GitHub reminded me that this issue is stale because of inactivity. Is anyone else experiencing this problem when they enable the plank effect? I can provide more screenshots.
I see, the problem, the same as you have. But, I found what the cause is. If you change the plank settings, extent to less than 4 icons, it does not cut off, then because there isn't enough padding or auto padding in the task bar size.
@howdev I played around with the Extent slider as well. For me, setting it to 2 instead of 4 seems to work, but 3 does not. But even at 2 it works only most of the time and with the default settings.
This isn't a solution. It depends on the rest of the settings. The App Icon Margin, App Icon Padding, whether you Ungroup application". The zoom factor, and so forth. I did managed to replicate the problem with the Extent slider being set to 2 as well.
I think this is a bug that needs to be fixed properly. Making the Extent setting < 4 is not a solution.

Describe the bug When the Plank effect is used as the animation type for hovering app icons, the side icons on the taskbar get cut off.
