home-sweet-gnome / dash-to-panel

An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.

Need help with reducing padding #2148

Hi,

I'm wasting a lot of horizontal space with very wide horizontal padding between icons. image

I think we could fit twice as many icons (or leave more space for window switchers) if there was an option to reduce that excess space.

Is there a way to reduce that?

Does anyone know which CSS or UI schema tag is responsible for that?

You don't need to search into CSS or whatever to change that... Just go into Dash-to-Panel Settings > Style... Change App Icon Margin and App Icon Padding. Example:

Dash-to-Panel-settings

You might want to change the App Icon size also... You can achieve that by changing the Panel thickness, in Dash-to-Panel Settings > Position...
