@tonykerns which instructions are you following to install the plugin? Please check the instructions at https://github.com/homebridge-plugins/homebridge-roomba2/
I will try these instructions. I am traveling for work, so I should have a reply in a couple weeks. Thank you. I am still having issues with this installing. I am very new with Homebridge and not a programmer. A step-by-step would be great (with screen shots). If not, I understand and will just not use it in HomeKit. On Apr 22, 2023, at 9:37 PM, Karl von Randow @.***> wrote: @tonykerns which instructions are you following to install the plugin? @tonykerns let's give it a go getting you going in this issue and then we'll see what changes we might make to the README. Have you done step one from the "Installation" heading? Then on to step two—Setup.
Let me know which steps you've done and what the output was from them. Perhaps take some screenshots and post them here as well... that will help us work out where the tricks are!
I know little to nothing about programming and I am trying to install this plugin. I have downloaded the plugin and am at the Configuration screen. I access the terminal screen, but when I try to paste the first command (sudo npm install -g dorita980) I get a reminder to "be respectful and that great power comes with great responsibility." The terminal then asks for a password but will not accept any typing. I did hit enter after pasting the first commend. Am I doing something wrong here? I have installed a couple other bridges successfully but never had to mess with the terminal screen. Here is a screen shot:
