Portrait-mode images can cause pages of scrolling #1284

Steps to reproduce the problem

Example: foone posted a very tall and skinny image.

Expected behaviour

The image fits onscreen.

Actual behaviour

The image is several pages long.

Detailed description

I'd expect a single click of the image to zoom in; instead, it zooms out, so it fits on screen.

1145 seems related; this may be a regression.
