Toasts for explanation of failed contraction or expansion #26

When contraction or expansion fails, which will be often (even after bugs are fixed), it would be good if a little "toast" could appear in the corner of the screen with the explanation why, and then fade away after a few seconds.

I am imagining that individual toasts would remain for a few seconds, and that if multiple toasts are present at any one time, they would "stack" on top of each other.
