Overhaul the visual appearance #51

I'd like the visual appearance of the system to be tightened up. It's far from unpleasant at the moment, and I'm happy with the general structure, and the locations of the various parts of the interface on the page. But I'd prefer a cleaner material-design feel, with a dark theme.

In terms of the overall "dark material" aesthetic, this is the sort of thing I'm thinking of:

Also, I would like the cells in the list of generators to each look a bit more like individual "cards", that "float" above their background. This was actually a bit closer to how they are rendered in the old http://globular.science system:

floating-cells

I think a "darker" version of this would work well.
