A bit late to the party here, anyways: this occurs because the post is in Markdown but we render it with SnuOwnd. Were it pure HTML, it would be parsed correctly.

So most likely unless we bring in a second renderer for tumblr posts (which is a large investment for a niche problem), this issue will remain, unfortunately.
