A CHANGELOG.md file has been added for each chart based on changes described in past release notes. These can be updated as part of the release process.
The releasing process has also been updated to minimize GH releases and more closely resemble the process on some other repos. By always having a 'prep-release' branch, it should hopefully be easier to ensure the latest commit to main is for the correct release.
