I am finding it very difficult also to build a barcode scanning application for
the Glass. The "recognition"-type applications could be the killer app(s) for
Glass, but as it stands they are very difficult/impossible to implement.
Has anyone found any workarounds/hacks for this?

Without autofocus I have to use a huuuge barcode which is bad in order to scan
an object... So sad...

I'm trying to scan a 1 in x 1 in barcode from 10 in distance, autofocus would
be of much help here. Would love to see these features sooner rather than
later. Currently XE 18.11

+1, very much needed, very useful for all sorts of applications to be able to
scan 'regular' barcodes! This will increase the value of Glass.

+1 I have 2 customers waiting for it, maximum we got was about 3,5 cm tall
barcode or 2,5 tall qr code. We now consider Vuzix as a solution, but having
this on Glass would so much better

I'd like to see this as well, but are there any workarounds out there to obtain
the end result? Third party devices, etc?

I'm with a Google Glass XE22. And i need to read 1-D Barcodes. I've used the
port of ZXing library too but it doesn't work for small barcodes, moreover it
only works with big barcodes. I believe that the autofocus will solve this
issue. I've tested an app build with this same library(ZXingLib) running on a
Vuzix device and it works perfectly for small barcodes. There are some forecast
in fixing this issue?
