Implement OAuth #271

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
It would be great if Witty could use OAuth. I always cronge whenever an
application asks me for my Twitter credentials. I know Witty's legit, but
OAuth just makes users feel better because they don't have to hand over their
credentials.

I think this needs a higher priority, since as of August 31 -- non OAuth calls
will be blocked.

I moved the code over to wittytwitter.codeplex.com and started the OAuth move.
Happy for any patches or help!

This folks: TwitterVB - A .NET Twitter Library
(http://twittervb.codeplex.com/), have already implemented Oauth.
Maybe talking to them or checking how they did would be of any help.

BTW, Congratulations for the great software you did. Witty is the best twitter
client!

Thanks for the help. I'm referencing code from Halfwit (a streamlined WPF
Twitter client) since the lead dev said he referenced Witty code quite a bit
and didn't mind if we referenced his.

Hopefully I can wrap it up this weekend, but if any C# coders want to join in
I'd be happy for help.

You can reach me (via another Twitter client for the time being :-) ) at
