I am mostly using Horizon as a hobbyist, so drawing a schematic might take me a couple of months if I am busy otherwise. This means that if I select exact parts and create them in the pool, they might be out of stock when I am finished with the schematic.
A workflow that I would like to have is:
draw a schematic and create symbols as necessary
look for the parts I want to use online
assign the parts to the symbols
create the board
There is already context menu > Schematic > Clear part, so symbols without parts can definitely exist in the schematic, and Place symbol, which I feel has a misleading name: It is for parts that have multiple gates.
So the only thing that would be missing is allowing the user to select a symbol in the Part Browser.
