Insane Background Mobile Data Usage #7572

This app just ate 3.1GB of mobile data in the background, even though I did not use it, at all.

Hello @theAkito,

Could you share the list of coins you have enabled in your wallet?

serrq commented 3 months ago

Follow.

Hello @theAkito,

Could you share the list of coins you have enabled in your wallet?

I created an empty test wallet when I installed the app a long time ago, which features BTC, ETH & BTT.

serrq commented 3 months ago

@theAkito what version of UW are you using now?

Could you repeating the same experiment (empty wallet) but saving the data log?

Of course if this issue happens again...

Certainly won't try to reproduce and lose another 3GB of mobile data.

That said, I created this wallet probably like roughly a year ago.

Can't I archive all app data and just send it to you?

My phone is rooted, etc, I can do anything.

If you notice that app eats 250mb in 20 minutes it is enough.

Just stop the experiment and sent the data log to the Unstoppable dev team.

UW has its native (not invasive) data log within.

Once the event happens, you can find it in settings > about app > app status.

This is my last 30 days data consumption.

I think it is not insane. It is the average if you choose "blockchain only" sync type for all Bitcoin like blockchains.

Last words about it are of the developers. Of course if consumption can be lower it would be better.

Sounds like they opened an old wallet and let it sync.

doesnt sound like a bug
