As a logged in user, I want to be able to have a real-time text conversation with a garden admin, when they are online. As a garden admin, I want volunteers and potential volunteers (logged in users) to be able to initiate a real-time text conversation about an event

[ ] For each event, enable real-time text chat that can be started by a user to contact an admin
[ ] Use socket.io

Extra stretch:

[ ] Disable chat options if the admin is not logged on

Consider:

Present this User Interface as seems fitting and convenient. There are no existing designs for this feature
How will this work on a small viewport (mobile device)?
