(no coding experience, limited IT experience) Hi everyone, when I try to upload DICOM files (usually from a CT), the files appear to load and then nothing happens. Can anyone point to me why this is happening? I have tried on two different (Mac) computers

Hello,

It would be helpful if you can provide more information. Such as:

  1. The exact version of Horos and macOS you are using.

    • To get the macOS version (e.g., macOS Big Sur version 11.1), click the apple logo on the menu bar and then "About This Mac".
    • For Horos version (e.g., 4.0.0.RC4), click "Horos" on the menu bar and then "About Horos". The version will be on the bottom of the dialog.
  2. The exact steps you used to "upload" the files. Did use click the Import button? Did you DICOM send them to Horos?

  3. If possible, an anonymized sample of a DICOM file that can reproduce your issue and/or any log messages describing errors from the Console app.

hello jensen0914, I have the same problem when uploading the data, my macOs High Sierra version is 10.13.6 and my Horus version is v3.3.6. I uploaded DICOM images via direct drag and dropping the individual DICOM file, also via creating new database folder with the desired folder and also via editing the preferences-database-local and adding the path with my folder and none of it seems to work properly, it appears like empty and all the indexes Database, Just Acquired (last hour), Just Opened..etc all is set to 0 value. All my files and folders are locally contained on my Mac. I am not able to identify the problem. Thanks for your help in advance.

There is still not enough info for me to understand how to reproduce the issue. Are you using the Import button in the Database window? I cannot reproduce your issue from what you have provided.

To rule out an issue with the DICOM image files, can you view the images with other viewers that work on macOS, such as:

Weasis (https://nroduit.github.io/en/)

Or an online viewer like:

Hi @jensen0914 I have had a similar issue. I viewed the image on Weasis and it opens up okay, but not in horos. I am using MacOs Ventura 13.1 Horos Version: 3.3.6

jensen0914 commented 1 year ago

@AsaKal - a sample image would be needed to diagnose your problem. Or, if you cannot provided that, follow all of the steps in the above comment I made including trying Horos 4.0.0RC5 built for later versions of macOS and also miele-lxiv (available on macOS app store and another OsiriX variant).

@jensen0914 Thanks for you response. I tried using the alternative Weasis v4.0.3 and still the image wont show up. BUT the same image showed up in Weasis v4.0.3 for Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 ). What might be the issue here ?

jensen0914 commented 1 year ago

@AsaKal - you need to provide much more information (an anonymized sample image being the best).
