This is not yet ready to merge; there's at least one "broken handler" in one of the panopoly ctools content types.

Not exactly related, but this whole discussion reminds me: Does panoply use this, or have we tried it out at all? https://drupal.org/project/fape

I've tried FAPE. I was hoping for inline editing, but you get sent off-page to another form.

I just tried FAPE -- the trick is having Overlay enabled and having "Use the overlay for administrative pages" set on your user page, and it will open a form allowing to edit just the one field in the overlay. Meh...
