Theme completely broke for no reason #100

I have been using it for years, tried to re-install. I'm using Arch Linux (gtk-theme-arc-git from AUR) and GNOME. Every single shell theme screenshot from 2017-01-10 20-18-11 background is now 100% transparent instead of the dark gray that it used to be.

Its caused by the gdk-pixbuff2 package and there are already many threads on Reddit and the Arch Linux forums and many new bug reports since it broke almost every GTK based system 😆

Here is a Gist that helps to finally replace infinality with freetype2

Reddit threads:

This is a general problem for GNOME users at the moment, after upgrading my system at my job today (3 week vacation) and restarted the whole system seems to be broken:

I had to downgrade every package (178!) manually. The infinality-bundle packages are actually out of date and the official freetype2 package already ported its functionality in version 2.7, so everyone should use the freetype2 package again. It now supports various modes which includes a infinality mode, but their v40 mode is even better.

Wow, that should explain it. That's ridiculous, thanks for the information. I actually did google the issue (with search terms such as "arc theme broken help me mom") but I didn't actually find any of this.
