It might be a bit late to ask, but have you tried restarting Gnome? IIRC hidpi should work, but sometimes mutter doesn't load the theme correctly.
Yeah, I've tried numerous times since I'm still using it, as my second OS =] I'm not good at desktop Linux, so my words can be clunky. Some apps look different, with different shadows and smaller icons, I guess they're using different GTK or whatever?
There was a similar bug report for cinnamon a while ago: https://github.com/horst3180/arc-theme/issues/222 I managed to add scaling support to the window decorations and it seemed to work under cinnamon. There may be a hidden setting somewhere, but I can't debug this since I still don't own a hidpi monitor.
Edit: I'm pretty sure this only affects Gnome 3.14 and older.
since I still don't own a hidpi monitor
Why can't you just switch the scaling in Gnome-Tweak to "2"? This works even if you don't have a hidpi monitor. The windows are quite large then. But for debugging it should do the job?!
Gnome Tweaks > Windows > HiDPI > Window Scaling
Just installed this gorgeous theme on Debian 8.3 with Gnome desktop environment. Some windows like Firefox etc. have too small top control buttons, as well as some other type of shadow around the borders. How could this be fixed? Thanks.
