arc dark for windows chrome looks like arc darker #842

The culprit is arc-theme/extra/Chrome/arc-dark-theme/images/theme_tab_background.png the inactive tabs are supposed to be darker blue, not white. Defeats the purpose of having a dark theme if half of it is bluish white. I'd say just pick one of the dark blues from main arc-dark and replace it.

Went ahead and did a quick recolour, but probably needs some work on tints. (use this on Chrome 67 or disable chrome://flags/#windows10-custom-titlebar and use the one below) arc-dark-theme.zip

Use this if you themed windows to arc dark using the port. arc-dark-theme-windows-is-themed.zip

horst3180 is inactive for a long time now. The arc theme is now maintained in this fork: https://github.com/NicoHood/arc-theme

Please close this issue, test the latest version of the fork and open a new issue on the fork if it still exists. Thanks.

WildGenius commented 6 years ago

Not sure what you mean, since your fork doesn't even have a windows chrome theme folder.

NicoHood commented 6 years ago

The extra theme for chrome is not required anymore since chrome improved gtk support and not takes the global theme settings. Just remove the chrome theme and test with the latest version of the package.

I don't know what windows version you are using, but my Windows 10 doesn't take "packages". In fact it is a bit of a pain to make it take the port. I manually edited the json and pngs required to make a chrome theme, all ready to merge (only as an extra for windows users, of course). From what I can see of your fork, you don't support Windows 10 in any way.

Oh well, Arc theme is made for GNU/Linux, I never thought someone would want to use it on a Micro$$$$ OS. Feel free to open a fork of the arc theme for chrome, we will not continue to support it. You can close this issue then.

I am happy to link to your chrome theme though :)

@WildGenius I know you are a genius but this is not for Microskoft and please read more about what is a desktop environment. The following link has a good explanation.

Literally everything you guys are trying to educate me about is included in the op and title. Yes, this is not relevant to linux, but since it was included as a crx years ago I decided to clean it up and make ready for use with or without the windows port (also linked in the OP). If whoever is running this fork wants to abandon the crxes as well, they can wontfix and close this issue. If someone wants to include them as extras my files in the OP are as good as I can make em by myself.
