TTL for Download_URL #1

Open fzakaria opened 11 years ago

Hypemachine seems to first host the music themseleves and then eventually move it to soundcloud. Having a time to live for the download url (1 hour?) will help with that. It would be also good to add timestamps.

hey that sounds good. What version of the site are we using live right now? I was going to start working on it again soon, but I think the last one I was working on was the playlist forked one. Could i integrate those changes into the live one?

I also got your message this morning about it running slow. Have you checked ram usage? Maybe our redis finally blew up past the ram threshhold and is hitting disk.

i restarted node and it fixed itself (specifically forever).

Not sure which might have had a memory leak or something.

can you do the following:

  1. Update the release branch (if it doesn't exist create one) and make it the latest from master branch
  2. Create a dev branch
  3. Merge your code into dev branch

I was thinking main dev can happen in dev branch and we just merge in our project branches into it?

I remember looking at it a bit ago, but don't remember much. My mom is visiting so haven't had a change but i want to fix this URL bug cause people are e-mailing me about it

yeah, i can to work on all those. Honestly since I have gotten back I have been just being fucking lazy. I am feeling guilty though and just need something to reinitialize interest. Once I start working I will get the bug again. Amazing that during the constricted hours of being deployed to the desert I got more programming done than the last 20 days I have had off. I have been talking up our app though. People REALLY like it. I gotta get refocused and stop chasing booze and tail.

Can you believe we are almost at 20K songs downloaded. That is not that many but soon 100K and after that 1 mil.

Its kinda funny we both gave up after we had a pretty sexy demo. Real life gets in the way, but until you get something up and running taht is all you can think of. I have a bad habit of abandoning projects after I get the hard parts working. Anyway we should skype sometime soon. I would like to talk to you about this project and others. Still sorry we couldnt have brogrammed shitfaced together in seattle. Oh well

I definitely know the feeling. Like after an Alpha release and all the kinks have been worked out I also usually lose interest. It's actually so frustrating because me and you have the wrong perception! All the tough work is in the polish!

So we're at 28k downloads now... Someone is blasting at our site since we have the same typical ~30 people per day lol.

I'm glad someone loves it.
