For instance the famous Guantanamo bay: here it is with with humanitarian style http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/19.9259/-75.1726&layers=H and as you can (or cannot see), there is just huge red (or whatever the color is) area and nothing under (you cannot see the sea, because it is covered by the "landuse=military". With the default style you can see the size of the military area as well as what is inside of it http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13/19.9259/-75.1726
