The help question here:

https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/27713/ich-kann-auf-der-karte-keine-vorhandnen-notrufpunkte-sehen?page=1&focusedAnswerId=27722#27722

suggests that "highway=emergency_access_point" should be rendered somewhere

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway=emergency%20access%20point

Perhaps it would be a useful enhancement to the Humanitarian map layer?

The priority for the map is to render features that are included the HOT/HDM preset. At the moment, the tag isn't in the preset and I don't think it has been used in many instances in humanitarian contexts (a quick search of the HOT mailing list didn't reveal any mention of the tag).

In my limited experience in HOT, humanitarian, and lower-income countries, there aren't signs for these places although this tag could be useful in higher income contexts that would experience a humanitarian crises.

I don't see an immediate case for this to be rendered and we have limited time and energy to find out if it is being used (and to make an icon for it and style it) unless the HOT community or others within these OSM communities in these areas express an interest in it.

However, if you'd like to ask the HOT community to see if this tag would be really useful, you could mail the HOT mailing list and find out if it has been used in lower income areas or any of the areas that HOT has worked in using taginfo or an overpass query.
