highway=residential is too thick #207

highway=residential is rendered thicker than highway=unclassified and highway=tertiary, what is confusing and not logical

Can you be a little bit more specific?

severinmenard commented 10 years ago

I mean according to http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mali_Highway_tag, highway=residential is expected to be thinner than highway=unclassified and highway=tertiary

yohanboniface commented 10 years ago

Can you show me an example of the problem? A screenshot with nice red arrows would be helpful for example. :)

BTW, residential is currently thinner or equal (according to zoom level) than tertiary or unclassified in the rendering.

severinmenard commented 10 years ago

Here it is, over Bouar in CAR, when I was checking the highways. Residential highways are blindingly (too much) obvious IMHOm in comparison with unclassified and tertiary roads. selection_008

sev,

that is the styling for the HDM-JOSM-STYLE plugin and restyling the highways is something that needs to be done.

severinmenard commented 10 years ago

Ah yes indeed, I clicked on the wrong bookmark, sorry :p Should I copy/paste on a github issue related to HDM-JOSM-STYLE plugin?

@severinmenard => https://github.com/hotosm/HDM-JOSM-style/issues?state=open Thanks :) @skorasaurus I'm on a OKFN mission for two/three weeks, but after that, what about a JOSM style sprint?

skorasaurus commented 10 years ago

@yohanboniface I only work 2-3 days from Dec. 23-Jan. 5th, so I'll start before then :)
