do we want to display also subway stations? with different icon?

They share the same tag in OSM, and the only way to distinguish train and subway station, IIRC, it's to make a JOIN on ways to see if the station is on a railway=subway or not.

IMHO, of course, it's a bit of out of our scope to make different icons for railway and subway stations.

But they should be rendered at higher zoom level .
