Request to add BasicAirData GPS Logger to Apps list #561

Closed GrazianoCapelli closed 5 years ago

GrazianoCapelli commented 5 years ago

Hi, I propose to add the BasicAirData GPS Logger into the Mapping with a Smartphone, GPS or Paper section of the LearnOSM site. The app is 100% Free and Open Source. You can find it on this GitHub Repository. Please try it and evaluate the inclusion!

The proposed material includes three images and a .md page.

There is nor .odf and neither .pdf guide. No idea of how to create it: It's an automatic process?

The initial "Note" section is intentionally missing. I need to add it, or is added during the inclusion?

I had a look at the documentation and tested the software myself. A version of your document - slightly adapted in style and formatting and augmented by a few hints I found useful while testing - is available at our staging site: http://nick-tallguy.github.io/en/mobile-mapping/basicairdata-gpslogger/

Please let me know if you are comfortable with this. I would then merge this to the main site and upload the document to Transifex so it is available for translation. This is the point in time when we produce the pdf-version, typically the size of the images must be adapted.

Your document version looks perfect: good hints and big improvements everywhere. I have only a couple of small notes to consider:

1) In "Import of GPX Tracks in OpenStreetMap Editor" section We opened brackets that are never closed:

As alternative, you can use the Share feature to send the file to the PC (you can do it via e-mail, FTP, or using many Cloud Services. The sharing possibilities depend on the third-party apps installed on your Android Device;

2) The first point in "Features" section: I ask if is possible to write Track recording - the app has no integrated maps

2) I just noted that I forgotten to write that the app is for Android: Maybe it would be better to specify it?

If you need images of a different resolution please ask, I will be glad to upload them.

closing this request as the data are available on LearnOSM via a detour through the staging site (last comments by GrazianoCapelli having been integrated)

The odt and pdf-versions of the guide have been produced and are linked, the document is available on Transifex for translation.
