Disable/Change Shift+Tab #21

An app acting as a good citizen should not install a system wide Shift+Tab hotkey. Consider a couple options instead: 1) Make the hotkey less likely to collide with other applications (Alt+Shift+Whatever). 2) Make the hotkey configurable. 3) Check the title of the current window and only override the hotkey if hots is active.

Hey @cowsrule, good points. I think making them configurable and contextual (e.g make them valid only if HOTS is active) would reduce the collision. Heck, we could even make that in its own configurable (global or contextual ).

I second this. In fact, Shift+Tab is used in game to switch to previous message receiver.

I HATE this hotkey, because it conflicts with hots itself, and not just that, but the only hotkey in hots you can't actually change! If a lot of people have whispered me during the day and I'm in game and accidentally tab when I have chat up it will change OUT of allied chat, when i shift tab to put it back hotsstats pops up in my face, so instead I have to carefully tab, tab tab, tab, tab, tab, tab to get back to allied after a shift-tab to make hotsstats go away, during which I can't activate my abilities because chat has to be open to do it, VERY annoying, and will often cause me to just close out of hotsstats for a gaming session if I do it.

Any update on this? Has been a few releases since this was first brought up. (no offense!)

poma commented 8 years ago

It was low priority. I hope I will have free time to implement this soon

Thanks for the feedback, no worries!

👍 need this as well, shift-tab is conflicting with various text editors and ides.
