We're having some trouble tracking users of some deployments of Rstatus. Rather than deal with individual installs, better to just hit the problem right at the source. Thanks!

There are several problems with your presumptions here. You are coming from too much of a centralized ideal... rstat.us is a distributed model. While you may believe you can exploit the element of centralization found in github, I assure you that it is not necessarily centralized at all.

The core values of rstat.us of openness and simplicity are valued exactly because they allow for the most extensibility! People may, and have undoubtedly done so already, fork and extend and distribute without sharing back. It is this "not sharing back" feature that actually foils you... we are creating and then saturating an ecosystem of distributed software. Sharing of code is motivated by one's means and not by the strong-armed will of a contract.

Also, the tests don't pass because you can't just open a socket willy-nilly like that in the test suite. Thanks Travis CI for your true patriotism. :)

lololol. I think my favorite part of this is the 'v3' in the URL, nice touch. :cop:
