I downloaded the latest Soundflower and Soundfloewbed to my iMac running Lion.
The icon in the Menu Bar says Soundflower is not installed. I may try
installing with Snow Leopard running.

Same issue here: cracking & glitching sound on OS X Lion... Soundflower is an
incredibly useful and critical app for me to route audio between my different
DJ softwares and record it in Audacity. There's no other app that can do this
for me.... Please please please fix it guys! Don't want to go back to
Leopard...

Since installing LIon we have been experiencing similar issue. Soundflower just
stops working. No error messages, just no audio through soundflower. Once we
re-launch our audio software it's ok for a while. I can't see any pattern or
specific reason. We use it 24/7. the only thing running that may be interupting
it is time machine???

Seems cycling74 has relinquished any responsibility for this project. Any
chance soundflower will be ported to os x lion in the near future? I've tried
several workarrounds posted in forums but results were never satisfactory.

I would not say "perfect"; it does work, but:

1) with small "click" sounds every couple of seconds (the kind of click you
would expect when listening to LP discs). I downloaded the latest sources and
recompiled them against 10.7 Apple frameworks, 64 bits, but there is no
improvement.

2) Also, with both versions (latest official release and my own build),
coreaudiod is still using 20% of cpu as soon as Soudflowerbed is connected to
something. This did not happen on 10.6 as far as I remember.

We are in the confirmative to Alexander's comment about LP disc click sounds.
Today we got those also. To our understanding, this is a due to lack of sync
between various modules partaking in the delivery-chain of the audio stream.

Remedy: After changing the "default system audio out" to SoundFlower 16 (or
whatever option different from the current one), and then back again to
"internal speakers" (our preference just now), perfectness was again recouped.
It must be because such configuration changes also executes a reset of the
setup.

Since then, the error has not appeared again.

I had this problem on Lion 10.7.x Tried everything suggested here and on other
forums.
Finally I bought iMic from Griffin to change the line-in/out to USB and now
everything works perfectly.

Sadly, this is not an option when you want to rely on soundflowerbed to use 2
physical sound cards as one virtual card with a global volume control.

Hoping soo much to see a fix coming in SoundFlower 1.6, but it looks like
nothing has been committed yet about this.
