Startup time #122

Is it normal for Safari startup time (the time it takes for the beachball to go away) to be about 7 seconds? If clicktoplugin is the only extension I have, this is how long it takes to be usable. I'm on a brand new MacBook Pro.

This is not normal. With an SSD it should be less than a second. What makes you think CTP has anything to do with it?

fearoffish commented 9 years ago

Without CTP it has no beachball, as soon as I enable it the beachball appears for 7 seconds (roughly) first.

Hmm, interestingly it's not every time. Without displays attached (out and about instead of at home with 2 apple displays) I get 1 second startup time. I will try and pin down more specifically when this happens. Is there debugging I can enable to console or something?

You have to build the extension yourself to debug it. There's an "Inspect global page" button in Extension Builder.
