BBC have broken things again #164

The BBC have a new landing page for videos, and clicktoplugin no longer works with the videos there:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines

The older video page is still OK

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/video

No idea whether all videos will move over to the new page or if it will be just for short videos. Change the user agent to an iOS device and you get a HTML player. Shame they are still using Flash on desktop.

This seems to have improved a little with macOS Sierra; the BBC serving up HTML 5 video in at least some cases, though not all, perhaps in response to the OS or Safari upgrade. I’m hopeful it will get there eventually as Apple have made it a little harder to use Flash with the release.

Also one new feature in the new macOS. 'Airplay' and 'picture in picture' widgets on it seems every embedded player. This effectively replicates clicktoplugin’s Airplay feature, and provides an alternative to Open in Quicktime Player.
