The youtube killer seems broken again.
Clicking on HTML5
to load the video, the Safari player show Error $page_title
.
Safari Version 10.0.3 (10602.4.8.0.1) on OS X 10.10.5
I am getting this too. Some more detail: it does not happen on every video, new videos just uploaded seem OK. Some older videos too. But a lot of old, as in more than a couple of days old, are giving permission errors for the video, e.g.
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
The error appears twice per video (720p and 360p?). Here’s a video I know was working before but which now does not
confirming issue on snow leopard safar 5.1 too. powerpc fine @10.5.8

same issue here, the sam error happens with the video posted above.
el capitan safari 10.0.3, been doing this for the last week or so.
I've been getting this sporadically for weeks but seems to have increased. Running 10.10.4/ Safari 8.0.7. Has gotten worse (more common) in the last week.
I use the deturl.com page to select an .mp4 converter and download for later viewing.
@mrkapqa - Power PC or Intel 10.4.11 blocked by youtube. Gotta upgade eventually.
@JohnBlackburne - Interesting version of an old Tears for Fears song.
Wrong Trumpet - Powerpc still working great , and snow leopard , too -
only few links not. i am using safari 5.1.10 on snow leopard. maybe i
was accidentally booting into mavericks and the error came from there.
sorry for bothering.
on powerpc i am using webkit for leopard on 10.5.8 and on tiger
tenfourfox 17 (allow still plugins so i can use flash hack and disable
html5) + qte (quicktimeenabler)

Thanks for the heads-up. It appears that
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hoyois/plugin-to-html5/master/YouTubeXHR.js
still works. Please use that one while I try to fix the other one.
@hoyois Thank you. I confirm that that killer works.
Unfortunately, I'm unable to open the plugin's settings. When I click the checkbox, a new tab is opened but the settings never load…
Edit: Mm, worked now. :-) Thanks!
Thanks for the fix!
how do i use that fix?
Put that URL here (it's the top one) in the CTF settings
thank you! i'd forgotten that.
ach, i'm still getting those error notifications:
I had to remove the inbuilt YouTube.js from the list entirely, otherwise the XHR version didn't work (even with it at the top).

that worked! thank you!
Hello ,
i have a question -
did someone succeed to get clicktoplugin + quicktime setting (instead
of html5 or flash) working on el capitan, and if so, on which browser?
i tried on fresh installation of el-capitan withouth success; no trick
was of avail. remember that someone reported that quicktime still
works for if upgraded to el captian from previous osx , but i tried to
upgrade from yosemite (where clicktoplugin + quicktime plugin 7.7.1
worked til safari 9) and on el capitan i could not achieve the
free-floating-quicktime window as before.
thanks + happy weekend.

FWIW the YouTube.js killer was fixed a while ago, but there is no reason to use it instead of YouTubeXHR.js (and conversely). Both are working at the moment.
In another issue thread, another users reported the same thing. As of this date, whenever CTF is installed, the youtube player doesn't work anymore. It used to work fine, but now nothing. Is there anyway to get it working again without having to install flash? I like the CTF player so much better.
