Alow access to GriP message log externaly

GriP message log is very usefull. It should be improved, and have easy
access from outside the settings menu (maybe from SBSettings, etc)

this would also be a great sbs settings type thing. in 2 ways

1) a toggle to show it

2)completly new thing where it is like the andriod notification system and you 
can
"pull down" a list of recent notifications.

you could even go so far as to group them like they do in android. I know there

ALOT of intrest out there for this sort of thing.

I'd go for toggle. Swipe down may conflict with SBSettings. (like, the 2 
dialogs will show together)

if you guys have checked cydia today you would see that sbsettings just 
released a
new update. the major improvement. You HAVE to slide to the side for 50 pixels 
before
it comes down. I see no reason now why a straight down motion would not work.

only problem would be for qtweeter users...but surely if GriP turns popular 
like it
should, when it´s out of beta, qtweeter devs will be forced to find another way

Any information on how one would get this to load?  I was thinking it could be
possible to look at the source for how you call the Message Log from settings 
and try
and cut pieces of that into a SBSettings toggle, but if you could point out

ones are important, that would be very useful for anyone that decides they may

Hi,
ive used the Toggle.dylib of VideoToggle for Sbsettings to execute bash 
commands. 
(because i cant write my own toggle for sbsettings)  I rewrite the video_on and 
video_off to execute "GriP -m" and renamed the directory of VideoToggle to 
"Grip 
Log". Now, i have a Sbsettings Button called "Grip Log" and if i touch it, the 
Grip 
Log open up.
To run "GriP -m" the GriP command line utility must be enabled, but i cant 
explain 
how i get the entry: "Settings->GriP->per-app settings->grip command line 
utility" 
to get this mode enabled.

Yea, its very nice.
Download the file, extract the two folders to 
/private/var/mobile/Library/SBSettings
and 755 the files inside the folders. Now you have to enable the Grip command 
line 
utility in Settings->GriP->per-app settings->grip command line utility
If you dont have this entry, try to execute Grip in command line, this is the 
only i 
remember to get this entry.
Reboot your Device and taadaaa, there is a functional GriP Log Sbsettings 
Toggle.

Open MobileTerminal or connect via ssh...goto /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/
GriP.bundle and execute GriP. After it, there was a message like "cant run 
because 
grip command line utility is disabled". I rebooted my Device and after looked 
into 
Settings->GriP->per-app settings next time, there was the grip command line 
utility 
entry. I enabled it. Now, i can run GriP -m in MobileTerminal or putty and the 
GriP 
Log open up and the message is gone.

Hope this will help to get the grip command line utility entry.

Theres no command to execute...just execute the binary file of GriP.

Man, i understood it :) I just had to input "GriP -m" :) Then i respring and it
appeared :) I was using "launch GriP", and that was giving a weird error

Once again. THANKS!!!

Another idea for you - push the log like Qtwitter does - you think it can be 
done???

Also hope KevinTM finds more ways to interact with the log (delete individual
messages, show more text, change fonte, size, etc)

Yea, i think it can, but i dont know if i can, i'm a windows developer ;-)
I hope i will find a workaround or modification to run the message log via 
mquickdo.
If it is possible to run bash commands via mquickdo or via doublehomeclick
it can open the message log by one slide over the statusbar or a doubleclick on 
home 
button.
But for this time, im happy with the current solution, too.
If i get a better solution i will post it here.

hey tom.blum85, I followed all your steps but i still cannot get the sbsettings 
toggle to bring up the GriP 
message log. I have enabled GriP command line utility and copied over the 
command and toggle files into the 
sbsettings directory but nothing happens when I press on the GriP log toggle in 
the sbsettings menu.

Don't forget, the modded GriP toggle stay in conflict with the video toggle, 
until i 
publicize my own sbstoggle. Because they use the same name of bash file in the 
commands directory. If u install one of them, it overwrites the other toggles 
bash 
file!!! So dont install the video toggle if u want to use the modded GriP 
toggle or 
wait for the release of full GriP toggle. I compiled the toggle already but it 
doesn't work right now. I will post it as soon as possible...

The changelog shows "iNotifyEx: Makefile for simulator. Oct 30 (2 days ago)", 
so i 
think (if i'm not be fault) Kenny has start the project shortly and nobody 
knows 
when the firs Beta comes out. Hope soon, too.

Anyway, I fight all the day against the compiler and get it work to write a 
toggle 
without video toggle conflict and i get it. This is a complete GriP log toggle 
without any modifications in a deb file, to install it easily with "dpkg -i".

Hi,
this is a new or other solution for faster access to GriP log.
Its very beta but i think it can build in a better way later.
I write a little App to open the GriP log with an icon on the springboard.
(Need Command Line Utility...)
Now its possible to open the GriP log with one slide over the mQuickDo-Bar.

How to install:
1.) Download and extract GriPLog.zip
2.) Transfer the GriPLog.app folder to /private/var/stash/Applications
3.) 755 GriPLog.app folder and all files inside it
4.) Goto /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences
5.) Open com.apple.springboard.plist and change to
<key>SBDoubleTapURL</key>
<string>doubletap://com.trinitus.GriPLog</string>
6.) Set a mQuickDo Slide Settings to "Double-click the Home Button"
7.) Respring or reboot
Done...

Hi,
good news and bad news...
if you installed the GriPLog app (mQuickDo) you have already seen the bad news 
:D
The GriPLog app close the running app and shows a black splashscreen and i 
doesn't 
find a way to change this, yet. So i set the focus on the sbsettings toggle 
because 
it can run the log from everywhere.
Now the good news...very fantastic news. I was able to load the logs, saved in /
Library/GriP/GPMessageLog.plist directly into a sbsettings window. Its a window 
like 
fastnotes. 
Here are some features:

-it doesn't need the Command Line Utility anymore so its easy to install via 
cydia 
(done)
-it can fully clone the message log of Android, like run the app of the 
notification
(not done)
-it fully sbsettings themeable because it doesn't need funktions or bash 
commands of 
GriP anymore (done)
-it slide down from top of the screen, not from bottom like the log of GriP 
(done)
-it opens extremely fast compare with the log of grip (less then a second) 
(done)

Take a look at the screenshot, this is the very first beta...
